Position Snapshot: The Director of Safety and Asset Management is responsible for the safe and efficient storage and distribution of supplies, materials, and assets. This role also involves preventing injuries to staff and damage to property and visitors. Key responsibilities include developing safety policies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and overseeing property maintenance and security. The director leads a team, conducts inspections, and collaborates with other departments to maintain a safe environment. Strong leadership, practical communication skills, and knowledge of safety practices are essential for this position.

The director leads a team, conducts inspections, and collaborates with other departments to maintain a safe environment. Strong leadership, practical communication skills, and knowledge of safety practices are essential for this position.
Essential Functions:
- Safety: Conduct routine safety inspections with safety committees and insurance companies to identify potential hazards and test AIM's Emergency Preparedness policies and procedures.
- Procurement and development of new facilities.
- Have a working knowledge of all building mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, life safety, fire protection, and security systems to ensure proper operations.
- Warehouse operations: Manage the overall warehouse operation, including receiving, storing, moving, and shipping supplies.
- Warehouse planning: Develop and implement short- and long-term warehouse planning
- Develop and manage contracts with suppliers. When external contractors must be used, procuring bids for services and supervising contractors ensures work is performed satisfactorily, within budget, and on time. Ensure that vendors adhere to the terms and conditions outlined in their contracts. Review change orders, negotiate disputes, and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain the vendor and inventory management systems.
- Develop internal and external procurement policies and conduct training where applicable.
- Be on call for emergencies.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Five years of experience in building operations, equipment operation, procurement, and inventory management.
- Bachelor's Degree or any combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and ability necessary to perform the essential functions of this position to the satisfaction of AIM's CEO.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- The position frequently requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
- The occasional physical demands are carrying, pushing, pulling, handling, repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Travel within multiple counties.
