The University of Chicago's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine seeks a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor to join our Orthopaedic Sports team. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications.

The appointee will join a growing department and musculoskeletal service line, which includes the opportunity to practice at University of Chicago's expanding clinical locations both in and outside of our main campus in Hyde Park. Duties include excellent patient care, teaching, and conducting/participating in research.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate, 2) hold or be eligible for an unrestricted Illinois Medical License, 3) have completed an ACGME accredited Orthopaedic Surgery residency, 4) be board certified or board eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery, and 5) have completed an ACGME-approved fellowship or its equivalent in orthopaedic sports medicine.

We especially welcome applicants with additional training or specific experience in hip preservation surgery, a demonstrated interest in student and trainee education, and a record of sustained scholarly activity in clinical, biomechanical, and/or basic science research. Additional preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated excellence in education and leadership.
