Description:
The Director of Culinary at Sprinkles Cupcakes is the driving force behind our menu innovation, flavor development, and product quality. This role oversees Research & Development (R&D) efforts, manages the commissary operations, and supports the supply chain team. Additionally, this position also oversees culinary for Picnik Burnet location, maintaining brand standards in both culinary and operational aspects.

- Oversee R&D initiatives like developing new recipes and improving existing products to ensure innovative offerings
- Create, test, and standardize all recipes to ensure they meet Sprinkles' quality and flavor standards
- Collaborate with HQ departments and Sprinkles partners to introduce limited-time offerings, seasonal flavors, and other exciting new products
- Partner with training team to develop recipe spec sheets and reference guides
- Work with marketing to ensure timely creation of the marketing manual and present training information monthly
- Develop and refine procedures to optimize freshness, taste, and visual appeal
- Mentor and lead the Los Angeles Commissary to make sure production workflow is efficient and consistent
- Work closely with the supply chain team to oversee food cost, ingredient sourcing, inventory planning, and vendor relationships
- Identify opportunities to optimize costs without compromising product quality or guest experience
- Oversee culinary and operational aspects of the Picnik Burnet location
- Partner with managers to drive an exceptional culinary experience through quality product and efficient service
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in culinary leadership, preferably in a dessert or baking company
- Proven track record in product innovation and menu development
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control
- Ability to stay updated in culinary trends and market demands
