Axens North America, Inc. seeks a Senior Technology Engineer in Houston, TX.

Job Description:

Perform catalyst bid technical projections to include performance assessment across multiple compositions and catalyst types, balancing performance and economics, generating diagrams and documentation for clients. Generate expert basis for process license projects in technology specialty. Perform process license studies to include using Pro-II simulation software, evaluating catalyst performance, P&ID documents, and formal documentation for clients. Monitor customer units to include operational data analyses, catalyst analysis, checking for Axens compliance, problem solving unit performance issues. Implement Axens' proprietary online monitoring tool Connect'ln to include generating calculations models, building performance dashboards and infographics, benchmarking, educating clients. Review unit monitoring reports/catalyst projections per month from other engineers. Mentor of junior engineers. Axens team leader for field technical service assistance jobs after catalyst sales to include catalyst loading, sulfiding, and start up (reductions and dryouts), regeneration, reactivation, fresh feed introduction, performance optimization. Ensure industrial feedback on Axens processes and catalysts with the following objectives: Identify improvements, provide commercial feedback, identify new business opportunities, provide client training, review of Axens NA P&ID's, operating instructions, and conduct reviews with clients' contractor's P& ID's as required. Develop and present technical material for industry seminars. Part-time telecommuting permitted. Up to 25% domestic travel.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or the foreign academic equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field plus 7 years experience in a refining or petrochemical occupation. The required experience must also include 7 years of experience with the following:

  • Lipid hydroprocessing;
  • Catalytic reforming and isomerization;
  • Chemical engineering fundamentals including reaction engineering, catalyst and general chemistry;
  • With simulation software such as PRO/II and Excel-based modelling and data analysis tools;
  • Evaluating, organizing, analyzing, optimizing performance and presenting operational unit data to subject matter experts and client management; and
  • 3 years' Field experience (within the 7) with naphtha hydroprocessing, and/or isomerization.
