We are seeking a Forming Manager to join the team in Valdosta, GA

Status of hire: Full time

Industry: Glass container manufacturing

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise all employees in the Forming area to ensure customer's requirements are met as well as all safety precautions are utilized.
  • Maintain timely and accurate records such as attendance production quality training and discipline.
  • Monitor production efficiencies and quality regularly during the shift and provide corrective action plans with employees while maintaining accurate communications to appropriate departments.
  • Responsible for meeting Product line functional performance, all product quality issues, internal action requests and external customer engineering change notices.
  • Act as a technical resource to a variety of internal or external groups such as Account Managers, Sales, and quality
  • Provides Forming technical support and assistance to the Operation Manager, Mold and Is Maintenance mangers, Slot Operation managers and other production personal.
  • Function as team leader when engaging technical staff, which includes assigning project tasks, following up on deliverables and ensure adherence to overall project schedule.
  • Oversee and manage content and input to Job on and off meetings. Create and maintain of job histories and provide advance technical assistance in job changes set up and stabilization to achieve plant KPI's.
  • Work Closely with Batch and Furnace, Mold shop, IS Maintenance and Quality to suggest improvements to bottle design to improve efficiency, reduce weight and/or enhance quality standards.
  • Drive development of productivity improvement initiatives within their product lines.
  • Assure productivity improvement plan is adhered to and takes step to mitigate risks related to execution and timelines.
  • Ensure quality standards are adhered to throughout the production process.
  • Lead cross-functional productivity and process improvement teams.
  • Demonstrate advanced or expert level engineering knowledge as it relates to product manufacturability.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge to customers about product offering.
  • Be able to identify product issues and be able to recommend remedies.
  • Provide problem-solving leadership on technical and quality matters.
  • Partner with other department to resolve issue and create new solutions.
  • Maintain administrative records and activities.
  • Control cost and remain on budget.
  • Train and develop other personnel.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years in a similar position in a glass container manufacturing company.
  • Previous project management experience, preferably on capital projects in the manufacturing industry
  • Fluency in English is required, Spanish is preferred


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to traverse steps without assistance.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate in potentially loud environments
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs unassisted.
  • Vision: Must be able to make visual recognition of the working environment.
  • Environment: Exposures encountered such as: hazardous materials, loud noise, and extreme heat.
