Title: Manager II, Unit Learning Systems.

Under general supervision, ensures the maintenance and support of the district's instructional and learning systems; provides support to end users and maintains monitoring systems that alert to potential outages and failures that impact teaching and learning in the DeKalb County School System (DCSD).

Essential Functions:

The following duties are representative of this position. Tasks and responsibilities will be in concurrence with implementing the Strategic Plan and Aligned Management System. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Maintains the implementation, enhancements, testing, documentation, and maintenance of enterprise learning applications that support the district's strategic goals. This includes, but is not limited to, support for major systems such as Learning Management Systems, Student Information Systems, and Student and Parent Portal systems, which ensures that all applications, systems, and hardware are online and operational
Collaborates with Instructional Technology and external divisions to stay current with instructional tool trends and developments and apply teaching and learning needs to improve internal tools and processes
Ensures appropriate integration of LMS solutions with other parts of the District's learning ecosystem (e.g., single sign-on, digital content) and responds as key escalation point to issues and addresses stakeholder needs and feedback efficiently and effectively
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; processes employee concerns and problems; directs work; provides guidance on policies, procedures & work methods; leads staff meetings
Facilitates and participates in meetings with/between users, vendors, outside agencies, and IT staff to determine application requirements based on project priorities, changes, and/or system needs
Works on specials projects which include new technical initiatives; works on internal projects to improve processes and create efficiencies within the department
Evaluates current tools, as well as processes, to constantly improve maintenance and systems availability, and develop the required documentation
Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Systems Administration, Computer Science, or closely related area from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university required.
Minimum three (3) supervisory-level systems support for enterprise-level learning management systems, single sign-on platforms, and digital content integration and systems interoperability required.
Minimum one-year supporting K-12 environment preferred.
ITIL Certification preferred.
