CAU is hiring for a Director of Nursing! The Director of Nursing is responsible for ensuring the coordination of quality medical services for members and supervision of the nursing staff.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to maintain appropriate relationships with people with disabilities utilizing normalization principles
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of CAU staff, members' families, and within the community
  • Ability to express oneself, both in writing and verbally, in a comprehensive manner, using the English language
  • Good planning and organization skills

  • Ability to deliver effective presentations & training programs
  • Demonstrate responsible leadership, mentoring and role-modeling
  • Access to an automobile vehicle, valid driver's license and safe driving record required
  • Ability to travel to where members of CAU live in the community & where nurses are located at CAU's various programs.


JOB TASKS
  • Supervises nursing staff at the various locations throughout CAU, on the medical aspect of their roles at the programs.
  • Maintains a 24/7 on-call for nursing issues and call outs.
  • Effectively follows up on coverage up to and including the need to go in if no coverage is found thru sub list/ other nurses.
  • Maintains effective member/program/staff relations.
  • Completes & follows up on medical audits appropriately & care plans as needed.
  • Conducts member assessments regarding medical audits appropriately & care plans as needed.
  • Handles scheduling and conducts trainings on medical topics at the main office/site locations as needed.
  • Trains new nursing staff on audits and trainings.
  • Ensures a high level of quality assurance regarding members' medical needs.
  • Thoroughly documents all member medical/health issues and situations
  • Maintains program operations and facilitates program development
  • Trains new nurses to QA in their roles and various expectations at CAU
  • Assists QA AED with medical projects/investigations as assigned
  • Cooperates with Agency personnel, legal authorities, and Department of Human Services, or any part or successor thereof, in any inspection or investigation
  • Ensures compliance with all required state and federally mandated background and exclusion checks including but not limited to criminal history background investigation (fingerprinting), Central Registry, Child Abuse Record Information (CARI), drug testing, and motor vehicle checks
  • Ensures compliance with wearing a mask when mandated by State, Federal and Licensing authorities during a public health crisis/pandemic
  • All other duties as assigned
