142 Feedhouse Superintendent - Cedar Rapids, IA

Summary:
A Department Superintendent is accountable for the overall safety, regulatory compliance, production, cost management, and colleague development of one of the Departments in the Cedar Rapids Corn Processing Complex. The Cedar Rapids Corn Processing Complex is one of the largest Agri-processing facilities in the world producing: Corn Starch, Corn Gluten Meal, Corn Gluten Feed, Corn Germ, Distiller's Dried Grains w/ Solubles, Distillers Corn Oil, Ethanol, Corn Syrup, High Fructose Corn Syrup, and Maltodextrin. This position will lead a team of between 4 and 70 full time colleagues in the Cedar Rapids Complex.

Specific Job Duties
  • Accountable for the overall performance of a production department
  • Maintain a working environment that supports ADM Core Values in which personnel safety is the top priority.
  • Ensures that all external/internal regulatory programs are maintained at a high level.
  • Aligns and communication department production, and team goals with those of the complex, business unit, and organization.
  • Develops, trains, onboards, and evaluates employees working in the department team.
  • Works closely with Maintenance and Engineering teams to maintain operational capacity and efficiency of all assets within the department.
  • Collaborates with multiple work teams across the organization to develop and execute continuous improvement projects that impact department and plant KPI's.
  • Supports Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, is an active member of the plant Food Safety Team
  • Acts as a key stakeholder to the plant leadership team.
  • Communicates accomplishments and risks to all levels of the organization.
Preferred Skills:
  • 7+ years' experience in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated leadership in safety systems
  • Strong Understanding of corn processing
  • Experience with Chemical Safety, Food Safety, GMP, GFSI
  • Project/Construction Management, Project Budgeting, Operational Planning/Budgeting
Environment
  • Primarily Monday - Friday, but available for operations outside of standard working hours
  • Work with various chemicals
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Lift 50 lbs
  • Carry ladders and tools
  • Climb ladders / stairs
  • Walk long distances
