What you will do
- Work closely with the vCISO to develop and implement comprehensive security strategies and policies.
- Lead and mentor other cybersecurity team members
- Oversee daily security operations, including monitoring, detection, and response to security incidents.
- Implement and manage security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
- Ensure regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests are conducted.
- Implement and maintain network security measures to protect the organization's network infrastructure.
- Respond promptly to security incidents.
- Collaborate with the IT team to strengthen the security posture of the network.
- Oversee access controls to ensure that only authorized personnel have access to sensitive information and systems.
- Enforce security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulations.
- Coordinate with the IT team to integrate security measures into new and existing systems.
- Coordinate with the SOC to respond appropriately to identified risks.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures.
- Lead the response to security incidents, ensuring timely containment and resolution.
- Conduct post-incident analysis and develop recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., FTC, PCI).
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of security policies, procedures, and incidents.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on security status and initiatives.
- Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for employees.
- Promote a culture of security awareness and best practices within the organization.
- Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the business.
- Communicate security issues and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
What you bring to the table
- Related post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security, with at least 2 years in a lead role.
- Preferred certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
- In-depth knowledge of security technologies and best practices.
- Experience with security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and application security.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
