The Secondary Principal assists in creating conditions to ensure that all students acquire essential knowledge, skills and dispositions; provides support to the instructional process with specific responsibility for directing overall site operations, services, and staff at an elementary school; provides information and serves as a resource to others; enforces established policies and regulatory requirements; coordinates school activities and addresses issues, situations and/or problems that arise on campus or with enrolled students. The Secondary Principal reports to the Secondary Supervisor. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Secondary Principal will need to do the following:
- Chair meetings for the purpose of coordinating activities and ensuring that outcomes achieve school, district and/or state objectives.
- Delegate responsibility for a variety of administrative functions to the Assistant Principal and other personnel for the purpose of managing the workload more efficiently.
- Develop budgets and financial forecasts for the purpose of providing financial guidance and recommendations to administrative personnel, Superintendent and governing Board.
- Evaluate assigned personnel for the purpose of ensuring that standards are achieved and performance is maximized.
- Facilitate communication between personnel, students and/or parents for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems and resolving conflicts.
- Implement policies, procedures and processes for the purpose of providing direction and complying with mandated requirements.
- Manage school administrative functions (e.g. facility maintenance, budget, staffing, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining safe and efficient school operations within district guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Prepare a wide variety of materials (e.g. reports, student activities, correspondence, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and conveying information.
- Present information (e.g. budget overviews, accounting processes, distribution formulas, etc.) for the purpose of communication information, gaining feedback and ensuring adherence to established internal controls.
- Represent the school within community forums for the purpose of maintaining ongoing community support for educational goals and assisting with issues related to the school environment.
- Supervise instructional personnel for the purpose of monitoring performance, providing for professional growth and achieving overall objectives of the school's curriculum.
The Secondary principal will need to have the following:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Be fingerprinted and clear a criminal background check.
- Education: Must have an Administrative certificate. Master's in Educational Leadership is preferred.
- Experience: Education related experience is required. Teaching experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS---Not limited to the following:
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.
- Generally the job requires 50% sitting, 30% walking and 20% standing. The job is performed under temperature variations depending on the season and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
