Position Summary

The Project Manager will support the Division of Logistics Services (DLS) in overseeing supply chain, logistics, and operational services for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This role includes managing supply and value chain processes, providing technical expertise, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The Project Manager will also supervise team members, coordinate employee onboarding, and assist in the introduction of new services. This position requires a strong background in logistics and supply management, with a commitment to high-quality service and effective resource coordination.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee supply and value chain management, including acquisition logistics, distribution, transportation, and delivery services to NIH locations.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding of new employees, ensuring completion within one week.
  • Ensure OSHA certification compliance and a safe work environment.
  • Support employee training and development initiatives to improve team competencies in logistics and customer service.
  • Monitor and implement warehouse QA/QC procedures to maintain high standards of inventory accuracy and quality.
  • Provide customer service support, addressing inquiries and ensuring timely responses.
  • Collaborate in the planning and implementation of new services, aligning with NIH logistics and operational goals.
  • Prepare and present project status updates, ensuring clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supervise assigned team members, providing guidance and performance feedback.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in program or project management, with at least 1 year of direct supervisory experience.
  • Strong technical expertise in supply chain management, acquisition logistics, and customer service.
  • OSHA certification required.
  • Knowledge of standards and warehouse QA/QC procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficient in data entry and hand-held scanner technology for purposes of logging metrics
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Must possess valid US driver's license.
  • Must provide documentation of eligibility to legally work in the United States.
  • Must be able to pass client background screening for security clearance.
Travel

May require occasional travel between NIH DLS locations as necessary.

Work Environment

This role is based in a logistics and warehouse environment, requiring coordination with various teams to support NIH's supply chain operations.

Contract Length:

This position is on a US government contract for one year with options to extend 4 additional years.

Salary

$ 62.50 to $ 74.52 per hour.

$ 130,000.00 - $ 155,000.00 annualized.
