POSITION SUMMARY:
Act as an SME (subject matter expert) on the calibration of all Instrumentation. Instrumentation: equipment software (hardware) used in the control and automation of test setups. Power, connection, communication requirements of data acquisition.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Setup and Calibration - provides SME support to ensure all test equipment and associated software is functioning properly. Includes building and designing highly complex test circuitry. Assists engineer in implementing system safety requirements to mitigate identified hazards with the test system
Troubleshooting - Determine the necessary steps to fix faulty test equipment. SME on troubleshooting wiring and computer problems
Data Collection - SME on complex technical calibration procedures and support documentation
Other - Perform other duties as assigned

CORE REQUIREMENTS:
Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Often acts as a facilitator and team leader
Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Makes recommendations for new procedures
Regular interaction with clients
Able to troubleshoot and rework complex tests
Advanced interpretation and analysis of test setup and instrumentation; regularly called upon to provide expert input on the calibration of test equipment
As a highly skilled specialist, contributes to the development of concepts and techniques. Highly advanced understanding of complex Electrical & Mechanical principles; advanced knowledge of Oscilloscopes and other data collection instruments; advanced knowledge of circuitry design, trouble shooting, all potential aspects of safety practices and wiring
Advanced mechanical, MS Office and Data Acquisition Hardware skills; Able to use and advise on all complex instrumentation, temperature probes, thermocouples, pressure transducers and accelerometers. Strong mathematical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
HS Diploma or GED; Technical Certification, AA or BS in Engineering Preferred
10+ Years
