General Statement of Duties

Provide basic support to end users of an assigned module or functionality of an enterprise system in departments Countywide; assists with resolving functionality issues; assists with maintaining an assigned module or functionality of an enterprise system; performs related work as required.
Essential Duties
This position would lead organizational data initiatives, spearhead data governance best practices, be a voice on data management in major projects, and grow our data visibility with tools like Microsoft Power BI and ESRI ArcGIS. Projects would generally include a multidisciplinary set of data roles, including data science, engineering, and visualization.
Henrico is looking to improve the way data sets relate to each other, being able to gather more information from this linked data and create solutions to visualize the insights this data presents. This role would not be assigned to a specific team, but rather an enterprise resource across the organization. Early projects would include data inventories of our systems, assisting existing Task Forces on requests, planning new projects for integrations that would have large ROI, and setting baselines for data governance. Larger projects to come include Data Warehousing, expansion of our reporting platforms, AI integration, standardizing ETL practices, and large-scale integrations, including our land management system and an upcoming ERP replacement.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school/GED including completion of some relevant coursework at the high school level and two (2) years of relevant work experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

May require of a valid driver's license to provide support at locations Countywide.
Expected Hiring Range for this position is $69,537 - $81,938.

- Ability to lead and implement current data governance methodologies and practices
- Ability to organize, design, and implement data project needs leveraging tools such as Microsoft PowerBI to create data products for use internally and externally
- Knowledge and implementation of data management and data governance best practice
- Experience with ETL processes and software
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other database tools
- Experience with common data languages such as SQL, Python, and R
- Knowledge of SQL Server Cube, OLAP, and other multi-dimensional analytical queries.
- Ability to learn and understand a wide range of data sets and business processes, and potentials for their integration.
- Ability to work independently and with others on large projects across several teams and departments.
- Project management skills to plan out multiple projects happening simultaneously.
- Passion for empowering internal and external peers and clients with their data access and visualization needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences in user friendly language.
