Responsibilities

Cedar Hills Hospital is seeking a Court Liasion with an background in behavioral health to join our team and support patients!

How you will make an impact:

The Court Liasion provides supervision of caseloads of mentally disordered offenders released from state hospitals under parole; and does related or other work as required. This position is responsible for coordinating with the courts, probation or parole, and law enforcement agencies in placement and supervision of mentally disordered offenders.

Duties Include:

  • Interviews patients, facility staff and other personnel to compile pre-assessment reports for patients pending release; determines and recommends to the courts appropriate facility placement or release of patient.
  • Coordinates with correctional and law enforcement agencies, courts, and mental health agencies in treatment and supervision of patients; informs appropriate agencies of release agreement violations.
  • Provides on-going counseling and supervision of patients; participates in formulating goals and treatment plans for patients; assesses patient needs; ensures that prescribed services are available and provided to patient; monitors patient progress.
  • Prepares and maintains reports of patient status and progress; submits reports to medical staff, correctional agency personnel, court officials, and others involved in patient supervision and treatment.
  • Participates in supervision and treatment of resistive-to-treatment patients with records of high recidivism to acute in-patient care.
  • Participates in training programs designed to develop and maintain professional skills.

New hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major coursework in the social, behavioral sciences or related field required

Experience: minimum 1 year of probation or parole work, mental health counseling or social casework required.
Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR certification, Handle With Care and Service Excellence Training within 30 days of employment and prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
