The Math Learning Center (MLC) is a non-profit education organization with a track record of developing high-quality mathematics materials, including Bridges in Mathematics. We create materials that engage students, promote classroom community and discourse, and help more than 80,000 elementary teachers across the country deliver effective mathematics instruction.

What you will do:
- Craft and implement business development plans to drive new curriculum adoption opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Design and implement our strategy to ensure we further our mission by getting our products into the districts that align with our philosophy.
- Ensure that our external engagement and presence at conferences and trade shows are oriented to our strategic goals and mission.
- Oversee marketing, communications, customer experience, proposal submissions, and outreach.
- Oversee our RFP process and monitor results and status of submitted proposals.
- Set short- and long-term strategic direction, anticipate industry trends, assess opportunities and vulnerabilities, and position MLC for growth.
- Ensure MLC has a compelling development and communication strategy and an effective strategy.
- Participate in revenue forecasting and identify opportunities for revenue growth and expansion.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of MLC's value, strategy, operations, and products.
- Stay apprised of market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs through ongoing research and analysis.
- Continuously refine our market and sales strategy and communicate the value propositions of our products.
- Direct the customer experience and sales function to ensure exceptional service and support for all clients.
- Provide strategic direction and, when appropriate, support in key sales opportunities to secure new business.
- Analyze customer feedback and market trends to provide feedback for continuously improving products and services.
- Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive communication and marketing strategies to enhance the organization's visibility and brand.
- In partnership with our communications team, direct all strategic messaging.
- Direct projects and oversee work to ensure deliverables are completed on time and with accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflow and optimize efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong external relationships and partnerships to expand the reach and impact of MLC.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align partnership strategies with organizational goals.
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships with schools, districts, and educational organizations.
- Create development processes, systems, and strategies.
- Represent MLC's mission and vision at conferences, meetings, and internal events.
- This position requires occasional (6-20% of the position) travel related to the job duties above.
How you are qualified:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, education, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
- Ten years of experience in nonprofit or business development, communications, marketing, and sales, preferably within the education sector.
- Five or more years of experience managing development, sales, or marketing teams.
- Understanding of the K-12 education landscape, particularly the market for elementary math curriculum.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful marketing and sales strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver effective presentations that convey key messages.
- Proven track record of driving strategic revenue growth and building successful relationships with customers and partners.
- A valid insurable Driver's License is required.
- Ability to think strategically and innovatively to drive business outcomes.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute projects from start to finish, meeting objectives and deadlines.
- Ability to understand math education principles, curriculum design frameworks, and instructional strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess situations, identify issues, and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and influence a variety of audiences.
- Ability to identify, engage, and manage relationships with stakeholders such as employees, customers, and vendors.
