Summary of Position:

The Senior Solutions Architect is expected to lead projects, understand requirements, define appropriate solutions, and provide estimates for the usage of hours and cost of intended solutions. This role works with different teams to ensure that the solution balances both appropriate expectations and quality execution. The ability to create supported documentation and diagrams is required as part of the project lifecycle.

Essential Functions:
  • Accurately prioritize against multiple projects
  • Define customer business problems in a technical context
  • Define solution options, architectures and bill of materials
  • Articulate the benefits of solutions, research and demonstrate ROI
  • Develop proof of concept, including leveraging replicable architectures and researching customized solutions
  • Create accurate detailed diagrams and design documents intended for proposed solution - including firewalls, ports, server types, applications, and requirements
  • Champion standards and consistent practices in all Solution categories
  • Provides support for all subtasks in at least 4 Solution categories
  • Drive design and development for major Solution components
  • Has Advanced / Subject Matter Expert understanding of tools in multiple deployment types and scales
  • Ability to develop Technical Architecture and present solution to team(s)
  • Develop best practice definitions
  • Ability to translate business requirements into design / applicable Solution
  • Can critically review work and other team members
  • Provide status reports on project - progress and outstanding issues
  • Drive Project reporting and Status from Architects and Engineers
  • Drives delivery of assigned tasks on schedule

  • Work Environment:

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee in this position frequently communicates with other co-workers/clients who have inquiries about the various projects and other needs. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. The employee in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operate a computer and office machinery such as a calculator, keyboard, copy machine and printer. Frequently moves boxes with equipment weighing up to 25lbs across the building and/or to other offsite buildings for various project needs.

    Required Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
    • 18+ Years of Experience

    Qualifications:
    • Typically requires BS/BA or equivalent
    • 10+ years-related experience in Primary Solutions
    • Primary Solution Certifications
    • 10+ years pre-sales engineering experience
    • Direct customer relationship experience
    • 10+ years desktop engineering, architecture, operations
    • Experience with Mobile Device Management technologies
    • Experience with Managed Services
    • IT Service Delivery understanding ranging from physical facilities up to application level
    • Vendor negotiation and relationship experience
    • Project management experience, including driven implementations with staff, timelines and budgets
