JOB TITLE: Director of Clinical Operations
Department: Operations
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer & clinically to the Chief Medical Officer
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Date Prepared: 10/28/2024
Position Type: Hybrid role for 6 months and will evaluate going forward based on need (requires travel to support the integration of new practices and collaboration with existing partners).
SUMMARY
The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for enhancing the operational effectiveness of Ascend Aesthetic Partners' network of clinics, focusing on operating room (OR) management, clinical staff onboarding, and ongoing development of operational procedures. This role collaborates closely with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to ensure alignment with clinical standards and practices. The Director of Clinical Operations and the Director of Quality & Compliance must work closely together as a cohesive team, ensuring constant communication and mutual awareness of each other's activities to manage clinical standards and operations effectively.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and to talk and hear. Employees may be occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds while pushing and pulling on higher BMI patients. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to risk of infectious diseases when interacting with patients and/or family members. The employee may be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)
- Oversee the strategic and operational management of surgical services across the network to include purchasing equipment and supplies; provide advice and feedback in conjunction with local Doctor Partners and OR Leaders.
- Oversee and support OR Leaders in organizing, staffing, and optimizing clinical operations.
- Facilitate the onboarding of new clinical team members, focusing on operational integration and mentorship across the network.
- Collaborate with partner doctors and local OR Leaders to align clinical roles, responsibilities, OR flows and surgery scheduling to enhance operational efficiency and foster a positive work environment.
- Lead the operational development of new Operating Rooms, advising on key staff appointments and timelines in conjunction with partner doctors.
- Engage in long-range planning to improve operational efficiencies and enhance patient care.
- Drive continuous improvement in patient outcomes and perioperative care quality.
- Adhere to facility policies and protocols.
- Understand HIPAA and the importance of maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Have proper etiquette for assigned jobs and respect all our patients.
- Advanced knowledge of the types of surgical procedures and treatments offered at the practice.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree in Nurse Practitioner or higher from an accredited program.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the current state. Additional state licensures will be obtained as necessary.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- 10 years of experience managing Surgical Services.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Proven experience in clinical operations management (OR's) within a healthcare network.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and influence across various clinic settings.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and clinical standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
