Thomas Jefferson University/Jefferson Health seeks a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Investigator/Laboratory Manager to join our cutting-edge Computational Medical AI Research Laboratory within the Department of Radiation Oncology. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth functioning of the lab, supporting cutting-edge research at the cross section of artificial intelligence and healthcare, and fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment.
This is a unique opportunity to lead NIH-funded projects and manage a state-of-the-art computational Medical Physics lab. Our projects span clinical applications and development of functional imaging, AI, and machine learning for outcome prediction and clinical decision support, clinical trial evaluation of computational physics methods, and developing computational tools for cyber resiliency. You'll work alongside a diverse team of post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, medical students, and residents. You'll also collaborate with leading physicians and physics faculty at Thomas Jefferson University and national and international partners.

Key Responsibilities:
- Research (60-70%):
- Conduct advanced Radiation Oncology computational research using AI and machine learning techniques for outcome prediction, clinical decision support, and cyber resiliency.
- Publish your groundbreaking findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at prestigious conferences.
- Lab Management (30-40%):
- Oversee lab operations, manage project timelines, and facilitate productive lab meetings.
- Onboard and mentor trainees, ensuring compliance with research protocols.
- Enhance research productivity through efficient project management, fostering a collaborative environment, and optimizing resource allocation.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- PhD in Medical Physics, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of research lab experience, preferably in a computational healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with project management tools and data management practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
