POSITION DESCRIPTION

The senior electrical construction design integrator shall coordinate with Design Engineering for

scheduling of complex design outputs. Provide design with necessary input to resolve design changes and improve constructability. Promote increased productivity and safe work practices. Interface with Operations, the Department of Energy (DOE), and other departments to provide reports and statuses of construction activities. Address and resolve complex problems associated with construction design.

Review and approve job plan/s, permits, material requisitions, and schedules. Ensure accuracy,

practicality, and economics of project plans are within scope deliverables. Identify and act on engineering and material restraints to verify that the proper tools are in place to clear restraints.

Duties (not inclusive)
  • Provide reports and status on construction activities
  • Address and resolve complex problems
  • Review and approve associated construction documents
  • Coordinate construction outage schedules and cost controls
  • Achieve successful project implementation
  • Take necessary steps to stop work if job is unsafe or will create unsafe condition
  • Serve as a member of the project team and design review board for each project
  • Provide early input into project planning, design, procurement, and field operations


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 5 - 7 years of practical experience in construction engineering or related areas. An Associate's degree and 7 - 9 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. A high school diploma and 10 - 14 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment,
  • A general knowledge of system testing and operations is helpful to ensure system turnover scope isadequate in regard to pre-operational testing. Leadership training in methods improvement is desirable.
  • Experience with electrical system installation/modification
  • Design experience in accordance with national piping codes and standards including National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Experience in optimizing Total Installed Cost (TIC)
  • Experience working in a project team environment
  • Successful completions of large-scale construction projects
  • Competency in development of complex design scheduling
  • Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance
  • Knowledge of effective use of resources and injury elimination


Desired Qualifications
  • Possession of an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years is preferred.
  • Prior SRS experience.

Technical Acceptability: 60%

Availability & Qualifications of Personnel: 20%

Duration of the Contract: 1 year, 2 option periods.

Estimated Hours Per Year: 2000 ST/ 300 OT

Work Schedule: Mon-Thurs 600am-430pm
