We are looking for a Site Manager, Constructionto joinour Montreal office.
What you will do here:
- Foster an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives and enable career advancement by fostering a sense of belonging
- Plan and implement a construction program, including defining the project plan, activities, milestones and workforce requirements
- Responsible for ensuring that all project execution resources have received required training
- Determine succession plans for key individuals and implement necessary measures to train these individuals
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, correlation of advanced and construction work packages, modularization and system transfer strategies, etc.
- Review project design to ensure compliance with construction-based engineering principles, company standards, client contractual requirements and related specifications
- Provides advice on construction related activities relating to technical developments, planning and resolution of technical design and testing issues.
- Contribute to procurement activities including validation of material specifications, preparation of purchase requisitions, tracking of materials and traceability of materials when installed in the field
- Active participation in quality assurance regarding underestimation and implementation of policies and procedures
- Oversee day-to-day operations on site while maintaining high safety standards, EHS policies, and overseeing traffic flow, environmental compliance, and stormwater control
- Maintain a positive relationship with the client's construction counterpart and a positive project culture
- Work collaboratively with the broader project team to successfully deliver the project
- Establish strategies to meet contract milestones
- Oversee field quality control and assist in the creation of risk mitigation strategies and implement them as necessary
- Coordinate with public project owners to comply with local and environmental agency issues and requirements
- Represent Aecon and the project to the client representative in a professional manner and provide updates
- Develop a solid understanding of the applicable scope through knowledge of the contractual and agreed work between Aecon and the client
- Identify requests outside the scope of the contract and raise any change management issues
- Create a detailed schedule to ensure that appropriate personnel, materials and equipment are available when needed.
- Responsible for all site execution matters including ensuring work is completed within the time limits
- Liaise with subcontractors, union representatives and regulatory bodies as necessary to ensure integration of all tooling designs
- Support in resolving labour disputes in collaboration with EPSCA and Aecon's Director of Labour Relations

- Requires skills in union relations management and a solid understanding of collective agreements applicable to the workplace
- Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, schedule and safety requirements.
- Must have a full appreciation of the importance of quality assurance programs
- Must have the ability to handle all matters confidentially and professionally
- Thorough knowledge of trades performed, estimation and employee relations required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction and supervision of subcontractors
