We are looking for an IT law enforcement specialist to provide system administration, project management, optimization, security updates, data driven reports, training, and focused IT support. The IT Systems Analyst will also help with law enforcement day-to-day technology needs and collaborate with the Dodge County Sheriff for continuous improvement, support priorities, and strategic initiatives. The IT Systems Analyst position will support Dodge County Administration, 911 Dispatch, Jail, Patrol, Squad connectivity, Emergency Management, Law Enforcement Systems, and County IT Data Systems. The IT Systems Analyst will work in the Dodge County IT Department Office, as one-of-four County IT Systems Analysts supporting County data information systems.

Position Summary
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Monitors, maintains, and updates applications, database servers, and data information systems. Performs routine maintenance.
- Researches, gathers requirements, analyzes, recommends, plans, executes, and monitors installations and deployments of application software, service packs, and critical updates using enterprise deployment process.
- Reviews, tests, and deploys server security updates, operating system updates, included SQL and system patches across enterprise data systems.
- Maintains enterprise production, testing and development data information systems environments to ensure system software and upgrades reliability, by following proper testing process and procedures prior to production implementation.
- Implements and maintains software provider updates and revisions to system applications, upgrade packages, interfaces, databases, and utilities; installs these updates in such a way as to minimize inconvenience to users.
- Responds to critical server issues and troubleshoots.
- Reviews logs to determine if systems and databases are operating properly after system or application failures.
- Maintains and documents departmental business processes defined by system configuration and application configuration changes. Stays current and coordinates with the network team to assist in the security of systems to protect and prevent data loss.
- Monitors and maintains system security configurations, rules, and workflows, in collaboration with application County department owners. Remediates issues and problems as they are discovered.
- Documents and makes emergency configuration changes as needed.
- Supports third party system interfaces using the latest integration tools.
- Develops database queries, standard reports, and report templates as required and requested by County leadership. Collaborates with Department Heads and/or their assignees, vendors, and other staff on research and project costs.
- Manages and coordinates multiple concurrent projects and resources

- Work may be performed above or below ground, to include confined spaces, both indoors and outdoors.
- Work has standard vision requirements.
- Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
- Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.
- Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities.
- Work is generally in a moderately noisy office setting. Loud noise working conditions will occur in server areas.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or other computer science field and five (5) years' work experience with Microsoft SQL databases and/or systems, and network applications. Equivalent combination of education and experience which provides necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
- Fingerprinting is required. Criminal background and local records check, including the Department of Transportation and NCIC/CIB wants/warrants database.
