WHAT YOU'LL DO
As the Director, Member Engagement, you will:
- Direct and oversee the strategic planning process for the APhA Communities and ensure successful execution of member engagement experiences.
- Serve as a staff liaison to assigned member engagement groups.
- Facilitate the recruitment of Association members for appointments to internal and external workgroups, committees, or other appointments.
- Responsible for planning, executing and coordinating networking events, virtual community meetings and six to eight in person focus groups on strategic objectives, communities work plans and business directives.
- Provide strategic planning, logistic support, leadership development, and substantive guidance to the chairs/leaders of the APhA Communities and workgroups.
- Collaborate with APhA Member Relations Staff to successfully manage and coordinate the process for maintenance and development of new member Communities.
- Provide guidance to staff and review work in relation to the organizational mission and the accomplishment of the CEO and APhA Board of Trustees Strategic Plan as it pertains to overall member engagement.
- Work with staff to ensure members are engaged and take advantage of member benefit to enhance professional development and overall member experience.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
APhA may be the right fit for you have:
Experience and Education required:
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- A minimum of 8+ years of healthcare experience and 1+ years of management is required. Pharmacy practice/management experience a plus. Professional association experience is preferred.
Skills, knowledge and abilities required:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Excellent project management skills, experience with Asana a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications
- Strong creative and self-motivation capability
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple work tasks effectively with minimal supervision
- Ability to relate to and interact with a wide variety of professional audiences
- Experience as a volunteer leader
- Substantial experience working with leadership in professional associations
- Experience with mentoring members and volunteers
- Strong customer service orientation
- Best practices in association management
- Creative in business development and funding projects
- Strong analytical skills and creative problem solver.
