Manages all Financial functions, for DeKalb Preparatory Academy.
Keeps informed of and interprets business and financial laws, policies and regulations affecting the business affairs of the district.
Communicates with local, state, and national agencies and officials to gain information about legislative or other changes that could affect the district.
Monitors all purchase requisitions to determine correctness of information, price extensions, coding information, etc.
Monitors bid requests and bidding procedures
Supervises the acquisition and maintenance of adequate insurance policies for the district's property, liability, and employee insurance.
Recommends personnel transactions to the Chief Academic Officer: Head of School.
Arranges for auditing of school accounts, internal and external.
Must receive staff development points and/or required hours of continuing professional education each year to maintain professional certifications
Supervises staff as assigned by the Head of Schools
Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities at the request of the Chief Academic Officer: Head of School.
Assembles and supervises the department's staff, monitor staff performance, and evaluates department effectiveness.
Conducts budget processing from the preparation to the adoption of budgets.
Provides the Head of Schools estimates for expenditures for matters in sufficient detail to prepare a program budget
based on performance standards and other supporting data.
Recommends various proposals to the board which impact the financial wellbeing of the System.
Attends all Board of Education meetings and prepares reports for the Board as the Head of Schools may request. Participates in the decision making of policy recommendations and strategic planning, as a member of the Head of Schools' Senior Cabinet.
Develop ongoing and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to internal controls and the timely development of financial processing.
Oversees internal controls and safeguards related to financial assets of the Districts.
Manages the department's staff's performance and evaluating departmental effectiveness and plans, schedules, and conducts departmental meetings.
Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours and as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.
