The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the clinical operations of Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers. This role involves strategic planning, implementation of clinical best practices, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will leverage their nursing expertise to improve patient care quality and operational efficiency.
The Director provides on-going leadership and operational oversight of multiple, geographically diverse primary and or specialty clinics within Tanner Medical Group, through the development, implementation and management of patient care systems to assure cost-effective and quality operations. Advises Medical Group leaders on administrative and operational matters as well as matters that potentially impact provider's professional activities or performance. This position is an integral member of the Medical Group management team. The Director works with various leadership teams to develop and implement processes to meet the needs of customers, employees and providers as well as enhancing the growth and quality of the medical group and System.
Education
Bachelor's Degree
Master's Degree and LPN/RN license required.
Experience
Five years of related experience. Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.
Qualifications
Proven ability to effectively work with others at all levels within and outside Tanner.
Minimum of five years management experience required in a healthcare environment.
Exceptional organizational and motivational skills.

Development - Maintains a high degree of knowledge of Tanner Human Resource and Tanner Medical Group policies and procedures. Maintains strong knowledge of electronic medical record and is able to provide training or troubleshoot issues within the practice. Works closely with trainers to ensure that staff is appropriately trained.
Participates in quality improvement including Lean projects to drive efficiency. Serves as a champion with providers and staff to support quality improvement activities.
Initiatives the evaluation of projects to increase revenue or improve patient experience. Works with Medical Group Administration to evaluate new projects.
May be responsible for handling of medications to include: maintaining proper inventory on hand, ordering from approved distributor, and receiving medication orders from the distributor by timely checking-in of the medications to ensure proper storage and handling for the maintenance of the integrity and security of the medications.
Maintains knowledge and compliance of regulatory needs for a physician practice. Examples: CLIA compliance, OSHA compliance, HIPAA compliance, rural health compliance.
May be responsible for resolving and or reporting medication errors.
May be responsible for the reconciliation of medication charges and credits.
Safety - Checks equipment routinely to ensure it is functioning properly. Maintains working knowledge of equipment and removes faulty equipment from use as necessary. Participates in safety programs
May be responsible for properly documenting the wastage of medications, monitoring and reporting the wastage. This includes the monitoring and proper disposal of expired medications.
