The Lead Analyst Loan Servicing acts as a key support function through implementation of policies and procedures that establish and maintain the quality and efficiency of post-closing and ongoing servicing activities.This role provides frontline service to and maintains relationships with attorneys, investors, field servicers, borrowers, and other agriculture loan professionals. This includes understanding the dynamic relationships in agriculture lending among borrower, field servicer, investor, tenant, and other related parties.



The ideal candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, interest in developing process, procedures, and requirements, possess a desire to work in a developing function and the ability to engage with numerous people within the enterprise at all levels.


The People You Will Work With

The position will report directly to the Senior Manager Closing & Servicing and work with other members of the Operations organization, as well as Credit Servicing, Loan Accounting, Finance, and Business Development, and Legal departments.


Where and When You Will Work

The position will be based in the Farmer Mac Johnston, Iowa, location or work remotely if the selected candidate is outside of the Johnston area. Core business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 p.m. Central. Work outside of these times may be required for planned and unplanned activities to complete time-sensitive projects or to attend off-site meetings or events.


Primary Responsibilities and Duties

Provides guidance and supports the Servicing team on core functions, such as servicing actions/analysis, billing/collections, tax/insurance/covenant monitoring, and loan modifications/documentation management.

Provides thought leadership and supports coaching and developing of team

Performs process documentation and application of departmental policies and procedures for the Farm & Ranch loan servicing function.

Assists in completing changes due to service actions on the Farm & Ranch loan portfolios in the servicing software to ensure maximum utilization is achieved for billing and reporting.

Prepares ad-hoc reports using the report writing tool in the servicing software.

Provides back-up support to staff within the Farm & Ranch portfolio to ensure deadlines are met.

Analyzes Farm & Ranch portfolio workflows and provides input for enhancements and streamlining procedures.

Provides customer service to Investors, seller banks, field servicers, and borrowers as needed.

Tests new versions of servicing software

Assists with internal and external audits and reviews.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

Experience in agricultural lending, including hands-on experience in loan closing, servicing, and credit analysis.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Skills in organization, proactive initiative, attention to detail, consistent accuracy, collaboration across internal functions and external counterparties.

Capacity to quickly shift from one task to another to keep up with the fast-paced working environment.

Ability to create, maintain, and improve highly effective processes, procedures, and structure.

Education/Experience

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or similar discipline

Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in a bank or financial institution
