General Description
Provides advanced specialized technical assistance for Schools and Departments by designing, writing, testing, and maintaining programs to support data analysis for planning and decision-making at the student, school, and division levels. Provides student information system data to schools and central administration, as well as Federal and State agencies.

Completes reports and maintains files as required.

Utilizes a personal computer, general office equipment and equipment related to the assigned area.

Performs work under the direction of the department director within the policy boundaries and established objectives and interprets policy on own initiative as necessary.

Physical Demands:
Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal indoor levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly; physical agility to drive, bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead. May be occasionally required to lift and carry materials usually under 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
Regularly works in an office environment. The noise level is quiet.
Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of Structured Query Language; of SQL Server database management systems. Considerable skill in programming. Considerable knowledge of DBA preferred.
Demonstrated ability in relational database modeling (ERD, normalization, Data Flow); in ETL. Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Visual Basic, C#, and ASP.NET. Demonstrated ability to work independently; to organize, meet deadlines, analyze and resolve problems, and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems preferred, or education, training, or experience sufficient to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

- Analyzes business needs; translates user requirements and develops programs, processes, and reports for schools and departments.
- Creates and maintains documentation of processes created.
- Creates and maintains interfaces with 3rd party software systems.
- Provides data for Federal and State reports.
- Participate in administrative staff meetings when needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
