- Engineer will lead effort for sizing of relief devices and maintain site PRV Database in Process Safety Pressure Protection Manager (PSPPM)
- Lead the overall site Safety Relief Review (SRR) effort.
- Steward the development of SRR Action Plans to cost effectively resolve the SRR findings.
- Maintain knowledge of site Engineering Practices, Industry Codes and Standards, Regulatory Requirements, and methods for documenting identified deviations.
- Maintain the SRR Work Process and identify and implement improvements.
- Provide Flare System evaluations as needed.
- Develop overall plant and unit simulations using standard process simulation programs (Hysys, Pro II, Unisim, and/or Promax), including the development of H&MBs.
- Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Utility Flow Diagrams (UFDs) to explain selected flow configurations.
- Calculate equipment sizes, including vessels, columns, and heat exchanger requirements including corresponding datasheets.
- Develop packaged equipment specifications.
- Attend and provide input at major reviews such as PFD/P&ID reviews, HAZIDS/ENVIDS, HAZOPs, and 3D model reviews.
- Represent the process engineering discipline and be able to explain process design questions to clients and other disciplines.
- Develop relief load narratives, relief load calculations, load summaries, and relief valve datasheets.
- Develop alarm and trip setpoints and process safety time calculations.
- Close out HAZOP action items.
- Develop offsites and utility design, including UFDs, consumptions, and the overall utility summary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
** THIS POSITION WILL WORK ONSITE AT A CLIENT FACILITY IN CHALMETTE, LA **
- B.S. Chemical Engineering from accredited University
- P.E. License is highly valued for this position but not required
- (3+) years' relevant experience
- Experience to include Lead role
- Understanding of the chemical engineering principles of heat transfer, vapor-liquid equilibria, mass transfer, and thermodynamics, and their general application to process design.
- Experienced in relief calculation methodologies and industry codes and standards applicable to pressure relief design.
- Knowledge of process design for equipment, including vessels, columns, heat exchangers, and package process specifications for equipment and control
- Familiarity with major regulations and industry codes and standards affecting standard design, quality, or processes.
- Physically able to conduct field trips for review of project materials, equipment and engage with field personnel.
- Ability to lift and carry up to (25) lbs.
- Work schedules may include extended work hours.
