AmesburyTruth is looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in Owatonna! In this role you will be responsible for managing various facilities and maintenance projects. This includes developing project scope, timelines, budgets, design, and install. To perform effectively in this position a candidates must have knowledge of building codes, equipment maintenance with the ability to lead projects and work with a diverse group of people.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the phases of engineering projects, including planning, designing, implementing, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure renovations or new construction projects objectives are met.
  • Work with Production, Manufacturing Engineers and Project Managers in the elaboration of layouts of machine modifications or equipment distribution.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
  • Develop project budgets for equipment repairs, upgrades, exchanges, and renovation / construction projects and coordinate adherence to project schedules.
  • Generate technical reports, documentation and drawings using AutoCAD and develop written project specs for bidding
  • Obtain outside contractor bids for renovation / construction projects
  • Manage internal maintenance and outside construction contractors working on equipment repairs, building renovation / construction projects
  • Provide project progress and prepare regular status reports for management.
  • Compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, city and company laws, codes, regulations, and standard operating procedures
  • Ensure compliance with site engineering standards, regulations, and Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge, hands on experience highly desired
  • Operate a personnel computer (PC), using software, including Microsoft office, databases, and spreadsheets, graphics packages to prepare detailed technical reports for use by others including management, co-workers and other employees.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project team members in diagnosing problems giving direction as needed as promptly as possible in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, or pneumatic operations.
  • Must be flexible in working hours in order to meet internal/external customer requirements such as Scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts etc.
  • Investigate internal customer complaints, determine the nature and extent of the problems recommend the corrective actions needed to address the complaints.
  • Oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within


  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical, engineering.
  • Five years of related experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Experience preferred, demonstrated by successful completion of a major improvement project.
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment while making decisions quickly
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
  • Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making
  • Previous manufacturing and/or maintenance experience
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring others
  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required by project needs.
