Accountable to the Director of Business Operations for developing strategies and setting the enterprise roadmap for operational improvements across the business as well as coordinating, enabling, and supporting the improvement plan across our manufacturing sites to enable rapid scaling within the Silfex workforce (dynamic manufacturing environment) and creating/growing a culture of aggressive, tangible, and rapid bottom line improvements. Responsible for the development and implementation of Continuous Improvement (CI)/Lean/Six Sigma training and building a culture of continuous improvement and ownership across the enterprise. Collaborates across Silfex with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Directors, Managers, and employees to deploy the Silfex Operating System.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Creates, oversees, and manages large scale, high priority process improvement initiatives, including implementing Lean/CI change management culture to all levels (office and shop floor) of the organization.
  • Develops and evaluates value stream maps, metrics, and strategic goals to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.
  • Develops Lean manufacturing strategies for multi-site operations to ensure performance objectives are achieved in the areas of waste reduction, profitability, quality, and safety.
  • Influence leadership (Directors and Senior Leadership Team members) on strategic CI and lean transformation topics and help make decisions that support the needs of the business.
  • Facilitate annual macro planning and policy deployment planning sessions across the business.
  • Develop training programs and assists in the training of employees on basic lean tools and Kaizen methodologies; in turn championing and supporting employee led Kaizen events.
  • Lead by example, process improvement and change management implementations using advanced Lean tools and methods. Mentor of Lean and Six Sigma principles and problem-solving methodologies (e.g. A3, DMAIC, 8D, etc.)
  • Authority on the use and training of simple through complex Lean tools. Facilitates Lean activities and workshops including Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, 2P/3P, Theory of Constraints, etc.
  • Coaches/mentors associates and middle management on Lean leadership and managing teamwork and culture change throughout the organization. Must understand and proactively coach mindsets that are resistant to change.
  • Influences upward, across, and down with or without direct lines of authority/ability to take charge.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor's degree with 4 to 6 years of supervisory experience
  • 10 years' experience in a manufacturing operation as a CI/Lean practitioner or similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and drive tangible bottom-line impacts.
  • Consultative approach and high level of confidence in influencing people with no direct authority relationship
  • Proven record of influencing people at different organizational levels (leaders, peers, operators, etc.)
  • Knowledge of industrial/manufacturing processes, human factors, and organizational behaviors.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and influence without authority and to challenge the status quo.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply project management fundamentals and tools.
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage complex processes and projects, work under tight time constraints and effectively work in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience working with all levels of an organization (manufacturing floor associates to General Manager)
  • Demonstrated strategic development and deployment skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or master's degree; with a focus in business, operations, or industrial engineering.
  • Experience in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in semiconductor fabrication or other high-tech industry.
  • Professional certification(s) in lean manufacturing and advanced manufacturing methodologies.
