Job Summary

Provides technical leadership to the order fulfillment and manufacturing processes to ensure material availability, product quality, and on-time delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Observe and promote facility safety procedures and culture.
  • Responsible for management of Purchasing, Inventory Control, Receiving/Warehouse, and Shipping.
  • Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
  • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
  • Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
  • Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the company, at sites, and in the factories.
  • Maintain required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.
  • Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
  • Assesses the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.
  • Provides information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials.
  • Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
  • Responsible for quarterly supplier scorecard data and supplier performance reporting up through the global supply chain team.
  • Maintains and ensures accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.
  • Develop and execute raw material and finished goods inventory control plans, month-end physical inventory, cycle counts, and FIFO.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Develop and manage supplier delivery expectations and inventory metric reporting.
  • Analyze material and supply chain process capability and yield against customer demand.
  • Identify, trouble-shoot and resolve issues impacting raw material lead-times.
  • Work with Customer Care and Sales team to minimize stagnant finished goods inventory.
  • Support Production Control team.
  • Support Company's Global Supply Chain team's sourcing strategy and company's goals & objectives for critical global raw materials and supply sources.
  • Hire, train, and develop personnel to improve the department's performance.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Management, or related field.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

5 years of supply chain or manufacturing experience.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)

Experience and understanding of optical fiber production process and customer requirements

Six Sigma Green or Black Belt

Graduate degree in related field
