Job Title: Business Development Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt, Base Salary $120k + Commission

Reports to: Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Location: Onsite.

KULR Technology Location: Webster, Texas

Travel: Frequent travel required.

Position Overview:

This role is responsible for overseeing the daily execution of business development strategies, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and achieve financial objectives. Key duties include collaborating with other business development staff to define project scope, review requirements, and set and approve timelines. The Business Development Manager works closely with company leadership to monitor progress, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. They manage client accounts, execute sales objectives, and coach teams on best practices and effective prospecting tactics for new markets, partners, channels, and customers.

With a focus on expanding revenue streams, particularly in high-growth areas like cell characterization and SafeCase solutions, this role is driven by performance-based incentives that encourage deepened market penetration for these products. The Business Development Manager leverages strong leadership skills to motivate team members, foster a culture of innovation, and resolve day-to-day challenges. They also establish team targets and metrics to gauge performance, actively cultivating industry relationships to adapt to competitive changes, pricing adjustments, and evolving product demands.

Additionally, the Business Development Manager has an unrestricted geographic scope, empowering them to pursue high-value opportunities across diverse markets and regions, creating broader business potential and enabling unrestricted growth. They may also administer or negotiate new business proposals, prepare contracts, and conduct research to evaluate products and analyze competitors. Proficient in office applications, they create reports, proposals, and modify spreadsheets as needed to drive strategic initiatives and contribute to the company's business development goals.

Functions:
  • Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities, with a focus on cell characterization and SafeCase solutions. This role is unrestricted by territory, empowering the Business Development Manager to pursue high-value opportunities across diverse markets and regions.
  • Execute business development strategies, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, and expand markets.
  • Brainstorm with business development staff to define project scope, review requirements, and set timelines.
  • Work closely with company leadership to oversee business development progress and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage client accounts, execute sales objectives, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Coach teams on best practices and effective prospecting tactics for new markets, partners, channels, and customers.
  • Establish team targets and metrics to measure achievement of objectives.
  • Develop and leverage industry relationships to respond to competitive changes, pricing adjustments, and product demand.
  • Suggest new product offerings or improvements to sales and marketing efforts.
  • Administer or negotiate new business proposals and prepare contracts as needed.
  • Conduct research to evaluate products, assess competition, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Utilize office applications to create reports, proposals, and modify spreadsheets in support of strategic initiatives.
  • Drive innovation and motivate team members to find solutions for day-to-day business development challenges.

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, administration, or related field is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years' experience in the related area.
  • Previous Business development management capacity experience preferred.
  • Business and Leadership Certification are a plus.

  • Deep understanding of business growth strategies, with the ability to drive revenue and expand markets through strategic planning and execution of targeted development campaigns.
  • Skilled in planning, executing, and optimizing marketing and business development campaigns that align with organizational goals and maximize market penetration.
  • Proficient in conducting comprehensive competitor analysis to identify market trends, assess competitive positioning, and adapt strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Expertise in fostering meaningful relationships with clients, enhancing customer satisfaction, and driving retention through tailored engagement strategies.
  • Proven ability to generate high-quality leads and manage the sales pipeline effectively to increase conversion rates and maximize growth potential.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess and interpret market data, identify emerging trends, and develop insights that inform strategic decisions and market positioning.
  • Skilled in overseeing the logistics and operational aspects of marketing, ensuring the smooth execution of campaigns and alignment with business development initiatives.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders, strengthening brand loyalty and increasing lifetime value.
  • Strong aptitude for tactical planning, enabling effective prioritization, resource allocation, and execution of initiatives aligned with broader business objectives.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, using data-driven insights to improve customer interactions, track sales activities, and streamline relationship management.
  • Strong demonstrated written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community.
  • Cooperative spirit within a team of diverse cultures while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and frequently changing priorities.
  • Intermediate use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
