RF Electronic Design Engineer
The Electronic Design Engineer will design,maintain, and/or improve electrical components, products, or systems for Commercial,Aerospace & Defense and other wireless applications, under the directionand supervision of senior engineering staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the design, drafting, test, and release of new products, devices, circuits, and/or systems, working alongside other design engineers.
- Provide clear status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing test data.
- Work with our Product Engineering group to transfer products to production.
- Work with our package and assembly teams to produce new and more cost-effective packaging and assembly methods.
- Initiate prototype builds and manage product characterization. Design evaluation boards and characterization fixtures, direct or perform measurements, and process and present evaluation data against the product development goals.
- Follow a formal stage-gate new product introduction process. Other duties as assigned
Key Competencies & Skills:
- Interest in electronics design engineering.
- Experience with modern electronics simulation tools (ADS, AWR).
- Knowledgeable in RF/Microwave/mmWave circuit architectures.
- Familiar with integration and experience designing for high yield and low cost.
- Understanding of Electro-magnetic and/or Electro-optic simulations. Thermal simulation experience is a plus (Ansys or similar).
- Understanding of the Smith Chart for impedance matching and tuning.
- Familiar with s-parameter and nonlinear measurements using industry standard test equipment (spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, power meter, thermal imaging, etc.).
- Understanding of a variety of RF/Microwave/mmWave application measurements. Understanding of the design of microwave evaluation boards including both electrical and thermal aspects.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or other drawing packages is a plus.
- Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
Required Qualifications andExperience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar studies.
- Prior related engineering internship/Co-Op is desirable.
