  • Samaritan Health Plans (SHP) provides health insurance options to Samaritan employees, community employers, and Medicare and Medicaid members. SHP operates a portfolio of health plan products under several different legal structures: InterCommunityHealth Plans, Inc. (IHN) is designated as a regional Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) for Medicaid beneficiaries; Samaritan Health Plans, Inc. offers Medicare Advantage, Commercial Large Group, and Commercial Large Group PPO and EPO plans; SHP is also the third-party administrator for Samaritan Health Services' self-funded employee health benefit plan.

  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Plays a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making at Samaritan Health Plans. Executes the development and implementation of data analytics strategies, ensuring that the organization leverages data to improve population health outcomes, enhance clinical operations, and optimize business performance. Responsible for the development and implementation of data analytics strategies, clinical informatics, and reporting to enhance the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of our healthcare services. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive informed decision-making and improve healthcare outcomes.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field required (e.g. statistics, mathematics, computer science, data science).
    • Five (5) years experience in data analytics with a focus on healthcare or a related industry required.
    • Experience in the following required:
      • Leading data analytics teams and delivering impactful results.
      • Data visualization tools and techniques.
      • Cloud-based data platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP).
      • Population health management tools and platforms.
  • KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
    • Strong understanding of healthcare data sources, including claims data, clinical data, and patient registries.
    • Knowledge of Quality Metrics (STARs and OHA CCO metrics) calculation.
    • Expertise in data mining, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
