Adult Protective Services Divisionis seeking a passionate individual, who is an excellent communicator with solid experience in long-term care to fill our Training Program Manager opportunity. You'll join a close-knit team that empowers and supports each other and makes a difference while "making it happen".This role requires exceptional amounts of time in the areas of content development and/or instructional design to create innovative learning solutions. This role will require a broad subject matter expertise in instructional design methodologies and adult learning best practices as well as the ability to analyze training needs and recommend training for complex APS subject matter. You'll be responsible for short and long-range program planning and goal development as it relates to the training needs of APS staff statewide.You'll be responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of training modules for APS staff statewide. The modules encompass intake, investigation, protective services, findings, due process, and documentation. As one of the APS Training Program Managers, you'll help address the training and quality assurance needs statewide. You'll be part of a team that is responsible for planning, leading, developing, coordinating, and implementing all APS programs, policies, and procedures statewide.This is mainly a telework opportunity. There may be times when this role will require providing in-person training as well as attending meetings and other engagements in the office, however, most meetings and events take place virtually.

  • Solid understanding of ALTSA and APS-administered programs
  • Proven ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for engaging diverse audiences and fostering teamwork
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills for a productive work environment
  • Skilled in developing inclusive training curricula for diverse learning styles
  • Solid understanding of adult learning principles and modern methodologies

  • Analytical skills supporting data-driven recommendations for program enhancement

Who should apply:

  • A bachelors degree in social work, education, health or social science, public administration or related field AND
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the application of advanced program management principles and skills and an understanding of the diverse organizational culture and business processes with the APS division
  • A minimum of three years of experience in curriculum development content development and/or instructional design.

OR

  • NINE years of professional/practical experience in social work, education, health or social science, and public administration, in addition to practical application of advanced program management principles and skills and an understanding of the diverse organizational culture and business processes with the APS division concurrently with experience in curriculum development and content development and/or instructional design.
  • Knowledge of federal and state administrative regulations laws; and policies related to due process.

Preferred/desired education, experience, and competencies

  • A masters degree in social work, education, health or social science, public administration or related field
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a Social Service Specialist 3 in Adult Protective Services (APS) conducting field investigations.
  • Have the ability to learn computer programs and to teach others to use them (i.e., Outlook, Visio, Publisher, Word, Excel, Internet/Intranet, TIVA, Barcode, ACES, CARE, etc.).
  • Experience working in programs administered by the Aging and Long-Term Support Administration and Adult Protective Services.
  • Proficiency in methods and techniques of policy development and management, including principles and practices of program planning and evaluation.
