As a Registered Nurse 4, your objective is to assist the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in leading and directing inpatient hospital nursing services, nursing staff development and training, and infection control services in compliance with Conditions of Participation by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). In this position, you'll provide oversight in the day-to-day operational activities for psychiatric inpatient nursing services. This position supports the CNO by ensuring that OHBH maintains compliance with all pertinent Federal and State laws and regulations.
The shift for this position is Monday through Friday, 11pm-7:30am.
Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for anadditional5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use.
Some of what you'll do:
- Assigns patient care tasks
- Ensures adherence to healthcare facility policies and procedures
- Participates in the development of healthcare services and policies
- Collaborates with other departments to integrate nursing services with overall patient care
- Monitors compliance with healthcare regulations
- Implements quality control protocols to maintain high standards of care
- Manages the budget for the nursing department supplies
- Approves expenditures and ensures efficient use of resources
- Conducts performance reviews and addresses any disciplinary issues
- Facilitates professional development and training of nursing staff
Required qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing AND four years of professional nursing experience including two years in a lead capacity over other nursing personnel
- One year of full-time experience teaching nursing may be substituted for one year of supervisory experience
- Bachelors degree in nursing or higher degree involving major study in nursing may be substituted for two years of nonsupervisory experience
Must maintain a valid license as a Registered Nurse for the State of Washington
Preferred knowledge, skills, & abilities
- ANCC certification in psychiatric/mental health nursing is preferred
- Expert knowledge of hospital, state, federal regulatory standards, policies, and procedures
- Masters degree or higher level in nursing is preferred
