If you are devoted to serving those with developmental disabilities, consider this exciting opportunity!DSHS'sDevelopmental Disabilities Administration(DDA) is seeking a highly motivated professional to serve as aDevelopmental Disabilities Administrator. This position is responsible for oversight of implementation of Program and Standard Operating Procedures, successful onboarding and training of staff, and quality assurance and compliance with certification required for theDevelopmental Disabilities Administration, Residential Habilitation Center (RHC) within a Program Area Team.


Some of what you'll do:

  • Assigns, hires, supervises, trains, evaluates, and takes progressive discipline measures for professional staff.
  • Provides consultation for staff; assures delivery of services to clients.
  • Directs implementation of regulations for direct services and their application
  • May investigate client/staff accidents and incidents.
  • Participate in staff planning, serving on committees as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance and monitoring system at the RHC level that results in improved compliance with program rules and regulations.
  • Review client files to assess for overall quality of file documents; identify areas for improvement and opportunities for better habilitation coordination.
  • Duties require positive interactions and effective working relationships with a number of other professional disciplines, recognizing the value, role and contribution of other disciplines.


What we are looking for:

  • Ability to participate in community and agency meetings demonstrating collaborative, cooperative, profession communication skills.
  • Ability to assess and identify training needs; the ability to develop and deliver impromptu and formal trainings.
  • Ability to evaluate crisis and/or complete client issues and staff with appropriate authority to avoid potential liability and/or negative outcomes.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with application of limited resources.
  • Ability to identify those serious issues which need to be reported to supervisor and chain of command.
  • Ability to prepare clear and understandable written and oral reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to collect, prepare, and present data in varies formats for varied audiences.
  • Knowledge of RCWs, WACs, and policy and procedures to ensure program compliance.
  • Ability to develop agency procedures.
  • Ability to facilitate staff and client meetings.


Who should apply?

-A bachelors degree in behavioral sciences, special education, business administration, public administration, or related fields. and four years of professional experience in the human services field of which two years involved individuals with developmental disabilities or other handicapping conditions and one year of supervisory, administrative, or professional program service delivery responsibility.

-Additional Professional experience described above will substitute year for year for the required education.
