The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) Engineer will proactively communicate any delays in the design schedule and find solutions to mitigate issues and coordinate with the Client's Document Control Team on any design file submissions or comments, delays and coordinate design review comments between the Construction Team and Performance Team to the Designers to ensure closure of comments in the Design File.
What you will do here:
- Track design packages for submission to client and collaborate with document controllers for timely delivery
- Proactively communicate any delays in the design schedule and find solutions to address them; Keep track of all delays and associated complaints with design consultants
- Coordinate with the client's document control team any delays in submission or receipt of comments
- Coordinate design review comments between construction and performance teams (CRM process) to designers and ensure closure of comments in design files
- Coordinate constructability and control reviews and quantity deviations in design, submittal estimates to relevant designers
- Collect information on a weekly and monthly basis to update progress reports
- Coordinate supplier information with the design team and ensure delivery to the client
- Coordinate with procurement team for subcontractor sourcing for design input requirements
- Coordinate design quality aspects with the team and assist in preparation of design quality audits with QA/QC
- Coordinate all Compliance Review Report (CRR) inputs with design officials
- Collaborate with the Lessons Learned Coordinator for learning moments collected from previous projects regarding optimizing design coordination internally within the team and externally
- Improve the process of delivering all packages to the customer
- Respond effectively to designers' requests in order to support the design process
- Help the design team to proceed on time as planned
- Develop optimized solutions and reduce cost minimization opportunities
What you bring to the team:
- 5+ years of experience in reviewing and managing MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) designs
- Minimum educational experience: Degree in electrical engineering
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets
- Computer skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
- Able to lead discussions with partners, customers and suppliers and interact with senior discipline staff as overall delivery lead
- Experience in vendor relationship management, estimating, information analysis and reporting is essential
- Strong teamwork ethic and decision-making skills
- Able to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Prolonged sedentary positioning
