Summary
The Advanced Technology Cores (ATC) is comprised of 26 unique core facilities and supports the research needs of its users. The Lead, Business Operations is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Advanced Technology Cores operations including approving orders in Jaggaer, Concur, and SAP. The successful applicant will have financial analysis and reporting experience as well as Microsoft Excel experience. This position will liaise with the administrative units on campus. The Lead position is also responsible for the grant administration of the Duncan Center P30 grant accounts, CPRIT awards, several S10 awards and foundation grants.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule within the Greater Houston Metropolitan area after an onboarding and training period.

Job Duties
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the core finances alongside of the ATC Director by monitoring expenses, chargeback projections based on unbilled iLab services, service contracts, and personnel costs as it relates to the submitted and approved fiscal year budget.
- Reviews new incoming and outstanding revenue generating invoices for all ATC managed cores as the accounts receivables representative to ensure payment is received and posted to the correct core service center accounts.
- Manages the purchase card and corporate card transaction expenses for ATC administration and staff and reconcile for monthly reporting. Reviews ATC blocked invoices, for validity and accuracy, and works with BCM purchasing and accounting to update purchase orders, ensure payments are released, good receipts are completed, and all blocked invoices are corrected and resolved.
- Responsible for training all new core personnel on iLab, including but not limited to, billing, running reports and updating pricing information and core details.
- Completes ATC finance functions which include but not limited to processing shopping cart approvals and submission of budget revisions.
- Oversees and manages ATC employees' cost and effort distribution in PEPT and provides monthly cost/effort distribution analysis.
- Participates in the development and submission of the fiscal year budget by reviewing ATC core budget submissions for accuracy and completeness and entering budgets into Workday Adaptive.
- Manages financials for pre- and post-award related tasks for Duncan Center P30 grant accounts, CPRIT awards, several S10 awards and foundation grants.
- Supports the review and development of process improvements to maximize operating and business productivity.
- Responsible for updating ATC policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Six years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field and 4 years of relevant experience will also be considered.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced accounting and/or finance skills.
- Higher education experience in a Research intensive organization.
