As the silent phase of the campaign begins, the Division of University Advancement is accelerating the hiring of additional Advancement Services professionals campus-wide and is excited to build out its team. Responsibilities
The Director of Information Services for University Advancement is an innovative, collaborative thought partner and leader in transforming the digital experience for donors, alumni and friends as well as University Advancement employees and key partners across campus. The role includes developing the frameworks for implementing and operationalizing a long-term technology roadmap and provides leadership of the people and teams doing this work.
Team Leadership
Qualifications
Master's degree and four years of experience related to technical services or a Bachelor's degree and six years of related experience, or a high school diploma and ten years of related experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to ten years.)
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in developing strong partnerships and relationships with the FSU's central Information Technology Services organization. Expertise in technology strategic planning, assessing technology infrastructure needs, managing frontline support teams, networking, cybersecurity and other core IT areas. Prior supervisory experience and demonstrated ability to lead a team through change and evolving expectations. Experience managing complex projects and strong ability to manage up and across the organization to facilitate communication and connection.

Team Leadership
- Exhibits leadership in keeping abreast of new technologies that would improve the overall digital experience for FSU constituents and University Advancement employees. Serves as a senior leader on the Advancement Services team and advises colleagues across University Advancement on strategic initiatives related to technology.
- Guides day to day execution of Information Services projects, focusing on a comprehensive project intake process, as well as optimal execution of projects in terms of outcomes, timeliness and budget.
- Communicates regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure database integrity, security, and optimized performance at the application and database level. Provides hands-on technical resolution and assistance where applicable when needed.
- Responsible for the training, supervising, and evaluating department staff performance. Instills in Information Services staff a holistic view of the role of technology within University Advancement.
- Assists the Associate Vice President of Advancement Services and the division's executive leadership in implementing effective business analytics practices that drive improved decision-making, efficiency, and performance.
- Participates in the formulation and documentation of technology plans and policies including identification of technical solutions to enhance operational business practices and needs of constituents. Serves as internal Advancement subject matter expert on federal, state, and university regulations related to information security and data privacy.
- Develops annual plan for the IS team and prepares the annual operating budget for department.
- Serves and/or appoints designee(s) to serve on University Advancement committees related to data governance and data management.
- Communicates advancement data and information services-related business policies and procedures to development staff, campus users, volunteers, and constituents.
- Oversees the technical aspects of data and hardware security, including PCI compliance controls.
- Ensures high-quality customer service while promoting end-user satisfaction through the development, enhancement, and support of University Advancement's applications.
- Maintains vendor relationships monitoring quality of work, resolution of issues, and expenditures.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Master's degree and four years of experience related to technical services or a Bachelor's degree and six years of related experience, or a high school diploma and ten years of related experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to ten years.)
- Valid FL or GA Driver's License or the ability to obtain.
