Job Summary:
Functions as a key organizational leadership contributor who is responsible for all financial and accounting activities that will support the profitable and effective growth of the business. The Controller leverages the understanding of manufacturing metrics to maximize the return on assets, establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. This role provides professional perspective, insight and recommendations that result in sound decision making for business.

- Establishes, coordinates, and administers plans for the control of overall operations together with the necessary controls and procedures to effectuate the plan. The plan provides profit planning, sales forecasts, expense budgets, accounts receivable, cost standards and saving opportunities, capital investing, and partnering to establish manufacturing key performance indicators.
- Oversee accounting department to include; accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
- Oversees budget preparation, audit functions and the related reporting
- Reviews and analyzes sales projections and profit opposite realized numbers, budgeted expenses against final totals, makes recommendations related to the methods necessary to address gaps and the overall planning process as appropriate
- Partners with other managers to develop and implement short- and long-term goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Assures that the necessary coordination within the area of responsibility is taking place and that the coordination of the assigned area with those of other company or corporate units is taking place. Resolves problems involving coordination.
- Meets regularly with business leaders to provide reporting, analysis and direction that impacts manufacturing and other critical business areas
- Responsible for budgeting objectives by scheduling expenditures, reviewing variances beyond a targeted amount or percentage, and implementing appropriate corrective actions
- Directs the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, periodic bank reconciliations and reporting for government regulatory agencies
- Manages work related to cash flow and balance sheet activities including the chart of accounts, accounts payable processing, expense reports, cash flow, payroll processing, and tax compliance
- Evaluates organizational and economic trends relative to the prospects for future growth in overall sales and market share, opportunities for acquisitions or expansion into new product areas. Estimates requirements for capital, land, buildings, and an increase in the work force.
- Monitors performance of direct reports. Provides prompt and objective coaching and counseling. Reviews direct reports and approves performance appraisals initiated by direct reports. Ensure that all results based on responsibilities are clearly defined and results delivered
- Makes recommendations on measurement benchmarks for financial and operating performance at the organization or department level
- Protects company assets through the creation, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls and measures
- Functions as liaison for banking relationship supported financial issues
- Leads or serves as a member on a wide variety of projects and special reports
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting of finance
- Master's degree in business administration, accounting or finance
- C.P.A. designation preferred
- Experience supporting or managing accounting functions within multiple locations
- Knowledge of database and accounting computer application systems to supply the most accurate financial information
- Eight to ten years of experience in financial management with increasing responsibilities for multi-faceted direction and planning
- Exposure or experience supporting manufacturing operation in Mexico a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
