Bay & Bay is a national leading trucking and logistics company based in Minnesota with multiple locations. Since 1941, we have been providing customers with transportation solutions across various modes and services throughout North America. We have an opportunity for a Director of Pricing Process within the Multi-Modal Division, located in our corporate office in Eagan, MN. The purpose of this position is to lead and enhance our pricing process and automation, inclusive of manual and automated spot quotes, data retention and reporting to gain profitable market share.

Job Responsibilities include:

• Process Improvement
• Work closely with leaders across departments (e.g., sales, operations, finance, and customer service) to drive process improvement initiatives that align with overall business objectives.
• Conduct comprehensive analyses of existing processes to uncover areas for improvement, using data-driven insights to prioritize high-impact initiatives.
• Evaluate current operational models and explore outsourcing and nearshoring opportunities to optimize the cost structure while maintaining high service levels.
• Develop and execute a strategic plan to identify and implement AI-driven automation opportunities across all business functions, not just truckload brokerage, to reduce operational inefficiencies.
• Implement automation technologies to streamline workflows in functions such as order management, customer service, billing, and logistics, driving measurable cost reductions.
• Continuously analyze financial and operational metrics to identify trends and recommend strategies to further reduce the cost to serve.
• Innovation
• Support the development and refinement of new service offerings, such as managed transportation and LTL integration, ensuring they are designed for maximum efficiency and profitability.
• Collaborate on go-to-market strategies for new services, integrating process improvements to optimize delivery and execution.
• Assess and deploy AI-based solutions that improve decision-making and automate repetitive tasks, with a focus on enhancing the customer experience and reducing the cost to serve.
• Drive digital transformation initiatives across the organization, leveraging your experience with various logistics applications and platforms to achieve a strategic advantage.
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of automation, process improvements, and outsourcing initiatives on the company's cost structure.
• Pricing
• Oversee ALL spot pricing activities, both manual and automated.
• Ensure that all Spot quotes are delivered and entered into TMS.
• Onboard new accounts into automated spot quote system.
• Measure performance metrics of individuals and accounts.
• Collaborate with our internal customers to yield better results.
• Identify areas of improvement through analytics.
• Identifying opportunities to convert spot to contractual business.
• Understand and adjust for market conditions.
• Adjust margin and pricing "dials" and strategies to yield the best results possible.

Education and experience:

• Minimum four-year college degree
• Minimum of 10 years Previous experience within Transportation Brokerage (3PL/4PL models)
• Knowledgeable in all facets of Truckload service line
• Truckload Pricing experience
• Strong business acumen
• Strong interpersonal skill both internally and externally
• Ability to influence without authority
• Familiar with freight market and seasonal cycles
• Well versed with pricing data
• Understands freight characteristics, customer and carrier behavior
