CPC Climate Capital is a new subsidiary within The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) and a sub-award partner of Climate United Fund. CPC Climate Capital will support Calvert Impact in the deployment of approximately $2.5 billion in Greenhouse Gas Reduction (GGRF) funds by advancing the CPC Climate Capital Multifamily Decarbonization Strategy nationally. CPC Climate Capital was selected to administer a portion of the awarded GGRF funds on behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide subordinate debt financing to owners of multifamily housing nationally to reduce or eliminate on-site fossil fuels, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. These climate goals will be simultaneously delivered against other critical national priorities, including the creation and preservation of affordable housing, promoting equity and environmental justice, and support of high-quality jobs.

Climate United is a partnership of three national non-profits-Calvert Impact, The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) and Self-Help-that are complementary in their expertise and like-minded about the imperative to make sure that all Americans, particularly those bearing the greatest burden from the climate crisis, participate in and benefit from the movement to reduce carbon emissions. Between them, the organizations have 120 years of experience directly deploying more than $30 billion in low-income communities that are disproportionately affected by climate change. The core partners will be joined by multiple deployment and implementation partners to assist with management and mobilization of $6.97 billion from the National Clean Investment Fund established by the federal government as part of the Inflation Reduction Act.
Role Summary:
The AVP Manager of Community Engagement and Partnerships will work closely with the VP Manager of Market Building; AVP Manager of Outreach and Education; and CPC's ACCESS initiative to develop and execute a variety of outreach and engagement strategies to Priority Communities which include low-income communities, communities of color, rural communities, and Tribal communities. This role will leverage the existing CPC ACCESS initiative and its network of stakeholders with the goal of raising awareness about the new GGRF funding opportunity and provide dedicated application support to Priority Communities. Primary responsibilities will include working with potential borrowers to navigate the application process, the program requirements, and the Climate United Fund building decarbonization performance standards. Additional responsibilities include developing and managing standardized reports for tracking and communicating engagement plans and metrics.

This is a hybrid role that can be based in either NYC and would work out of our Manhattan office 2 - 3 days a week or remote in Washington DC and will need to periodically travel to our Manhattan office. The salary range is $110,000 - $130,000, dependent on experience.

What You'll Do:
- Develop educational materials and resources to effectively communicate Climate United's goal and strategy to invest a minimum of 60% of GGRF-NCIF capital in low-income and disadvantaged communities (LIDAC).
- Working in conjunction with CPC ACCESS, identify new community partnership opportunities to expand CPC Climate Capital's footprint nationally and facilitate investments in Priority Communities, including low-income and disadvantaged communities (LIDAC).
- Participate in early stage pipeline development and initial reviews of referred deals to speak to program requirements, help borrowers navigate the application process and to help determine eligibility for CPC Climate Capital's suite of products.
- Regularly organize and host community and national events, as well as attend stakeholder events around the country, to educate the market about CPC Climate Capital's financial products and program requirements.
- Provide feedback and input to CPC Climate Capital Program Management to ensure that CPC Climate Capitals' products meet borrower's needs and are responsive to market conditions.
- Develop and manage standardized reports for tracking and communicating engagement plans and metrics.
- Regularly analyze and provide impact reports to CPC Climate Capital Program Management.
- Collaborate with the Climate United coalition to organize and execute upon the community outreach and engagement strategy.
- Identify opportunities to highlight success of CPC Climate Capital's projects, developers and/or communities for media prospects.
- Develop bespoke business presentations to promote CPC Climate Capital's financial products, program eligibility, performance standards, and general green building issues and solutions.
- Perform other administrative duties, as required.
Skills & Experience:
- BA/BS required with a minimum of 5 years' experience in community outreach and organizing events or a related field
- Familiarity with the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund's goals and objectives, particularly as they pertain to low-income and disadvantaged communities (LIDAC) and building decarbonization.
- Experience in developing and executing large-scale engagement plans and events
- Working knowledge of affordable housing finance and issues related to community development.
- Ability to engage respectfully and meaningfully with various industry stakeholders and community partners.
- Ability to present in public forums.
- Familiarity with commercial real estate finance preferred.
- Ability to excel in a dynamic environment with cross-functional teams.
- Project Management training and certification are a plus.
- Semi-regular (i.e. quarterly) domestic travel and overnights will be required.
