Job Description

The Specialist is responsible to identify, plan, and organize work across all commodities with scheduled paving by local government agencies in support of the Work Coordination team. Operate, maintain, and enhance scripted automations and integrations among company and external data sources.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Support regional Work Coordination leader and work with multiple departments within Con Edison, including but not limited to Electric, Gas, Steam, Transmission, Energy Services, Engineering, and Central Operations. Obtain updates and drive results from these departments.
  • Obtain regular project status updates from various systems and sources, including but not limited to Local Agency (City/State/other) DOT milling and paving updates, CPMS, Gas Work Tracker, SR Tracker, CGI/Logica, LOT, Adept, Gas Central, eGIS,ArcGIS, Maximo, and ProceMX.
  • Independently develop, operate, and maintain databases, servers, systems, and system integrations, and author business use cases. Collaborate and deliver finished products with various company departments, including but not limited to IT, Tech Arch, Construction Business Services, and eGIS, and various external vendors including but not limited to ProceMX.
  • Attend field meetings and perform field visits at various locations as needed.
  • Identify, review, communicate, and coordinate work coordination opportunities for multiple groups.
  • Prepare meeting agendas and minutes. Organize documentation for team use.
  • Prepare and update work coordination documentation by navigating, interacting, and interpreting various work management systems and other systems of record.
  • Monitor execution of work coordination packages and tracks various metrics.
  • Develop and deliver automated, frictionless integrations with all systems named above and new systems to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and deliver customized visualizations in Tableau and ArcGIS to integrate and visualize data from the sources named above and from new systems.
  • Verify work schedules and activities of external agencies.
  • Maintain and improve data quality in the coordination platform.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Department Manager with the coordination, preparation and reporting of significant activities on special projects and programs. Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.


Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Master's Degree and 2 years full time related experience or
  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years full time related experience or
  • Associate's Degree and 4 years full time related experience or
  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years full time related experience.
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering Management, Business Administration, Organizational Management or related technical or Business fields of study and 2 years full time related experience in Utility Construction, Permit Administration, Clerical Administration, Utility Operations, Business Administration, or Software Programming.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Must be an enthusiastic, effective communicator and promote Cross-Commodity Work Coordination. Required
  • Utility Construction/Operations experience. Preferred
  • Business analytics experience (KPI dashboarding, report creation and distribution) Preferred
  • Fluency in any of the following systems: CPMS, Logica, Gas Work Tracker, SR Tracker, ProceMX, LOT, Gas Central, Maximo and NYCStreets Permit Management System. Preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, Teams, and Power Apps). Preferred

  • Well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments
Licenses And Certfications
  • Driver's License Required
Additional Physical Demands
  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
  • Must be able to work at a desk, respond promptly to phone calls, text messages, and computer notifications, and work in front of a computer for 8 hours daily.
  • Must be willing and able to meet and converse with stakeholders face to face at various locations.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
