We're looking for a dynamic, flexible individual to join our family office, where everyone rolls up their sleeves, no task is too small, and we all jump in to make things happen. This is a unique opportunity for a versatile finance professional comfortable in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

About the Role:

As our Controller, you'll oversee financial operations across multiple companies within our portfolio. You'll handle everything from high-level financial analysis to month-end closings and reconciliations, as well as establish and maintain internal controls and processes. We're casual here, so if you're used to working with a hands-on team-construction workers, and other trades-you'll feel right at home. Construction experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Management: Manage A/R, A/P, job costing, inventory management, month-end closings, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets and rolling quarterly forecasts, conduct financial analysis to guide decision-making, and support strategic initiatives.
• Regulatory/Tax Compliance & Reporting: Oversee sales, property, transaction and income tax compliance; work with external partners for tax returns and audits. Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting and compliance with federal and other agencies.
• Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure accurate, efficient processes; lead automation initiatives for financial operations.
• Cash Flow & Banking: Oversee cash management and banking relationships, ensuring adequate liquidity across entities.
• Payroll & HR Coordination: Oversee payroll processes and collaborate with HR to ensure smooth operations.
• Team Support: Train and mentor junior accounting staff, helping to build a capable, collaborative finance team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or MBA with accounting emphasis.
• Experience: At least five years in accounting and finance, at least two years as a controller, with a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in accounting software (e.g., mid-tier ERP systems) and MS Office, especially Excel.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving capabilities, excellent organization and communication skills, and ability to work well with others in a collaborative environment.
• Analytical Ability: Ability to analyze complex financial information, manage multiple priorities, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
