Summary
The Vice President (VP) of ERP Development will lead the strategic planning, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring ERP solutions align with business goals, driving operational efficiency, scalability, and innovation. The VP of ERP Development will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, executive leadership, and external partners to ensure ERP initiatives support growth and enhance business processes.

Summary
The Vice President (VP) of ERP Development will lead the strategic planning, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring ERP solutions align with business goals, driving operational efficiency, scalability, and innovation. The VP of ERP Development will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, executive leadership, and external partners to ensure ERP initiatives support growth and enhance business processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the overall vision, strategy, and roadmap for ERP systems to meet organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to understand business needs and align ERP solutions accordingly.
- Drive innovation and ensure ERP systems are future-proof, scalable, and secure.
ERP Development & Implementation
- Oversee the design, development, customization, and deployment of ERP systems across the organization.
- Lead the integration of ERP with other enterprise systems (CRM, SCM, etc.) to streamline operations.
- Ensure successful implementation of ERP projects, meeting timelines, budget, and quality requirements.
- Establish and enforce coding standards, system architecture guidelines, and development methodologies.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of ERP developers, engineers, and project managers.
- Foster a collaborative environment with IT, operations, finance, and other departments to ensure ERP initiatives are successfully aligned with organizational needs.
- Manage relationships with external ERP vendors and consultants to ensure successful partnerships and implementations.
Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate existing ERP solutions and drive continuous improvement efforts for system performance, functionality, and user experience.
- Implement and maintain effective monitoring, reporting, and feedback loops to ensure system integrity and responsiveness.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in ERP solutions, ensuring the organization remains competitive.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure ERP systems are compliant with applicable regulations, security protocols, and data governance standards.
- Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure ERP system uptime, data integrity, and business continuity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in ERP system development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with multi-site or global ERP implementations is highly desirable.
- Proven track record in leading ERP development teams in large-scale organizations.
- Strong strategic and operational leadership with the ability to drive change and innovation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and influence at the executive level.
- Deep understanding of ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of system architecture, integrations, data migration, and development best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud-based ERP solutions, SaaS, and modern IT infrastructure.
- Experience managing large ERP implementation projects, with a proven ability to deliver on-time and within budget.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall, is preferred.
