PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Training Manager plans, coordinates, and delivering training programs to assist staff in acquiring the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform their jobs effectively. The Training Managers develops training materials, schedules training sessions with external and internal presenters, tracks staff attendance and progress, and evaluates the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Works with department leadership to design a standardized on-boarding process to include trainings, job shadowing, and other support for new employees to complete before full time assignment to their site location.
  • Develop learning materials and curriculum content specific to each training and strategize how to operationalize training concepts into daily work.
  • Tailor training delivery across mediums and modalities like virtual, pre-recorded and in-person trainings.
  • Monitors staff attendance and participation in trainings, including tracking the completion of required trainings to ensure compliance with ECS policy and contract obligations to our funders.
  • Takes lead on facilitating internal trainings for Housing staff, and identifies other internal and outside presenters to facilitate recurring and ad hoc clinical trainings.
  • Identify and assess current and future training needs of the department through observation, direct feedback from staff, and through consultation with program managers and directors.
  • Organize and coordinate logistics of internal and external trainings, including scheduling of trainers, securing space for in-person trainings, ensuring needed IT equipment is in place, setting-up and distributing links for virtual trainings, etc.
  • Conduct evaluation surveys and collect feedback regarding trainings and materials, and modify the training curriculum as needed.
  • Ensure that all trainings; address adult learning styles, are culturally sensitive, set learning objectives which enable training participants to acquire necessary competencies and to formulate specific objectives against which to evaluate training results, build continuous feedback mechanisms to instructor and participants, and construct practical evaluation devices to measure participant reaction, learning, and behavior results
  • Work within and promote the integrated services team model in an environment dedicated to harm reduction, recovery, and wellness.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding client health information and comply with all laws of confidentiality and HIPAA requirements. Consult with supervisor as needed regarding exceptions to confidentiality.
  • Participate in regular meetings of ECS's leadership staff to advance organizational vision, values, innovation, collaboration, and service integration.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in human services, organizational development, or business field OR; equivalent experience closely related to the job description.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with developing curriculums/trainings and a proven history of effectively facilitating trainings.
  • Skilled in the development and writing of manuals, handbooks, lesson plans and reports and design training curriculums
  • Preferred knowledge of the mental health, physical health, educational, vocational, cultural and developmental needs of adults experiencing homelessness in a diverse and multi-cultural environment.
  • Knowledge of communication theories and practices including conflict resolution
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of curriculum development, training theories and assessment, design, development, implementation and delivery including materials and presentation
  • Knowledge of principles of adult learning styles
  • Knowledge of and commitment to client-centric service delivery including harm reduction, trauma-informed, cultural sensitivity, housing first and motivational practices.
  • Ability to deal tactfully, diplomatically and objectively with stakeholders, and the ability to develop and nurture relationships with a variety of people.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, and ability to speak effectively before large and small groups
  • Collaborative work style, initiative and flexibility; demonstrated ability to work independently, effectively as an individual and part of a team.
  • High energy and initiative, and a drive for results; an ability to work with high levels of ambiguity and enjoy an active, fast-paced environment.
  • Able to operate computer and audio-visual software
  • Proactive, self-motivated, resourceful/adaptable, and creative in the planning process; able to manage multiple tasks and adjust quickly to changing priorities
  • Possesses a friendly attitude and customer service focused mentality; imaginative and visionary outlook; a good sense of humor is a plus!
  • Professional and discreet demeanor with good interpersonal skills; ability to handle confidential information and require considerable use of tact, respect, discretion and judgement.

  • OTHER: Will honor and abide by rules of confidentiality. Must secure annual TB screen. This position requires long periods sitting at a desk and/or computer station; using a telephone. Will honor and abide by Episcopal Community Services' rules and regulations, including confidentiality.
