Primary Objective

The Process Engineer/DCS Administrator will design, optimize, and manage OCI's processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety in manufacturing operations. Additionally, this position will ensure the efficient, reliable, and secure operation of the distributed control system.

Essential Functions

  • Design, develop, and optimize processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
  • Create process flow diagrams (PFDs) and process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)

  • Implement process control strategies to maintain optimal operating conditions
  • Analyze existing processes to identify areas for improvement
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues to minimize production downtime
  • Ensure the proper functioning of all electrical & instrumentation systems daily to contribute to the operational viability of the plant
  • Monitor and analyze process data to identify trends and propose solutions
  • Provide technical support and guidance to production teams
  • Submit reports to plant management to contribute to the continual evaluation of operational efficiency and costs
  • Train and/or inform employees of new work methods or procedures, changes in safety regulations, work policies and electrical codes and standards to maximize the staff's skills and ensure compliance with Company & regulatory requirements
  • Assist in preparation of capital and operations budgets
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose plant system problems to provide resolutions and minimize downtime
  • Responsible for maintaining, supporting, improving, and updating the plant process control systems and related application software and hardware, including Schneider Electric/Foxboro DCS and AVEVA/Pi system.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • B.S. Engineering (Chemical) Preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Process Engineer
  • Minimum of 5 years' Management or Supervisory experience
  • Pi management and administration
  • Advanced applicable knowledge and experience with Schneider Electric/Foxboro DCS design, programming, and administration
  • Proven experience in the development and management of an effective Predictive Maintenance Program
  • Develop and safely manage small and large capital projects
  • Good communications skills including written and verbal assignments
  • Detail oriented and focused with excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to manage own time, work efficiently, set priorities, handle multiple, and sometimes conflicting projects, without loss of effectiveness

  • Proficient in Microsoft products
  • Experience with NetSuite, EAM, and AutoCAD is a plus
  • Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment
  • Technical writing skills
