Position Summary
The Compliance Manager - Alliant Arizona and Texas responsibilities include but are not limited to - maintaining the Alliant business's compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations, operating within Pinnacle's policy and procedures, resolving problems, coaching, and training staff, helping customers, contributing to business unit planning, and supporting the Area Director as needed. The Manager is accountable for building a positive relationship with the state regulation offices in Arizona and Texas, the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) and the Texas Railroad Commission (RRC) respectively. The Manager will also be accounting for company sustainability recording and reporting with our parent company, SHV Energy.
The Compliance Manager - Alliant is responsible for all aspects of the Alliant business compliance in Arizona and Texas. The Manager will guide the Alliant staff including branch managers, service technicians, drivers, and customer service representatives to ensure that all aspects of the business are compliant with internal and external regulations and policy. As a staff member, the Manager will be a key advisor to the Alliant Area Director to support a well-run, efficient, and safe operation of the pipelines, bulk storage facilities, as well as the cylinder dispensers and/or depots in the Alliant locations.

- Ensures doing good business in line with the company's code of conduct and its ethics and compliance policies.
- Understands and works within the Pinnacle Strategy and the company Operations Strategy.
- Build and maintain a network of relevant (external) stakeholders/partners including within the ACC and RRC and represent SHV Energy/Area in organizations such as the state propane associations.
Is responsible for supporting safety related aspects within the area aspiring zero incidents.
These include (but are not limited to)
- Demonstrates visible safety leadership.
- Carries out all aspects of the Alliant-Pinnacle's Visible Felt Leadership roadmap.
- Actively entertaining a cross-functional partnership with the Safety Team.
- Assuring that drivers, service technicians and yard hands are compliant with all company and regulatory training.
- Assures that all company and regulatory standards are met for all locations.
- Help oversee the Operational Discipline and Safety process directives of the company.
- Supports operations supervisors, drivers, service technicians and yard hands with Alliant-Pinnacle's 9 Life Savings rules, General Safety habits and the CARE - 7 steps to zero, within their daily tasks.
Assures employees are qualified and capable of executing their job and resources in line with work scope.
This includes (but is not limited to)
- Train and motivate the Area team members.
- Support branch managers, drivers, service technicians and customer care representatives to improve their job execution.
Safeguard Alliant-Pinnacle Propane's license to operate in their area.
This includes (but is not limited to)
- Ensure Alliant-Pinnacle infrastructure maintains regulatory and compliance standing with the Arizona Corporation Commission and the Texas Railroad Commission.
- Lead audit activity, follow-ups, and communications with the ACC and RRC.
- Oversee and audit equipment and inspect pipeline and depots for compliance.
- Maintain files for each piece of equipment and maintain equipment according to DOT regulations and company procedures.
- Ensure that staff is properly managing and maintaining pipeline equipment as needed.
Facilitating an efficient and effective execution of operations
This includes (but is not limited to)
- Seek efficiency opportunities in operations through continuous improvement.
- Support asset management for assigned Area including properties, storage, pipeline, parts, and fleet.
- Track companywide sustainability efforts and report to senior leadership and SHV Energy on progress.
Lead the team to deliver a positive customer experience.
This includes (but is not limited to)
- Ensure schedules are maintained for each pipeline and community to keep work on schedule to meet customer expectations.
- Understand the local customer base and how the Alliant-Pinnacle team can help satisfy the demands.
- Understand and act upon customer requests.
Support Area and Network Initiatives

- Support the planning and budgeting for the Area and ensure processes are executed within KPIs and control the budget.
- Support the Area Director and COO when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience; or master's degree with 2 years of relevant experience; or High School education with 8 years of relevant experience.
Experience / Abilities:
- Experience with compliance and regulatory work preferably in propane/natural gas required.
- Experience and proficiency with Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping preferred.
- Fleet management preferred.
- Experience managing multiple locations preferred.
- Experience with customer development and sales preferred.
- Operationally focused with ability to think strategically.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
TRAVEL AND HOURS
- This position is full-time, standard operating hours
- Travel between Arizona and Texas is required
