Responsibilities

Responsible for the patient assessment and referral process; implementing, monitoring, and evaluating that process. The Director will be responsible for all patient intake calls; providing information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professional staff (i.e., physicians, consulting professionals) requesting information regarding potential admissions, developing and/or maintaining relationships with ongoing referral sources, and alternative treatment resources when appropriate.

Established in 1986, Anchor Hospital specializes in the treatment of behavioral health and addictive disease disorders for teens, adults and seniors. Our mental health facility in Atlanta, Georgia is located on a secluded, 55-acre campus, less than three miles from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

Qualifications

Education:

Master's degree from an accredited university in a clinical area, such as counseling, social work or RN licensure from an accredited school and at least five years' experience in the mental health field.

Experience:

Clinical experience in psychiatric setting; situational evaluation and crisis intervention experience preferred.

License/Certification:

Licensed in the State of Georgia as related to degree (i.e. LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LPC) or licensed as an RN in the State of Georgia, within one year of employment.

Skills:

a. Must have good communication skills in order to communication in a clear, concise manner with staff, referral sources, managed care coordinators, and patients/family members.

b. Must have good clinical skills and ability to relate to those patients and/or family members in crisis.

c. Must have high level of initiative, motivation, independent judgment and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:

Requires extensive time sitting, writing, and talking on telephone. Ability to assist in crisis intervention with out-of-control patients.
