Job Summary:
PIC Group has an challenging opportunity for a Civil Field Oversight Representative supporting a brownfield conversion project in Utah. The Civil Field Oversite Representative will report directly to the Field Oversite Manager, and will be responsible for the successful completion of a state of the art 500kV HVDC Converter Station. The Civil Field Oversight Representative will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring compliance with jobsite policies, safety standards, and project specifications. The Civil Field Oversite Representative plays a critical role in ensuring the project is completed on time, within scope, and in accordance with safety regulations, and as part of a larger conversion effort to transition a coal facility to natural gas and hydrogen fuel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate all civil construction activities on-site, ensuring work aligns with jobsite policies, safety requirements, and project specifications.
Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA regulations and the site safety program.
Conduct daily site inspections to ensure that construction progresses according to schedule and standards.
Provide regular written reports on civil construction activities, safety adherence, and any deviations from the project plan.
Participate in incident investigations, including root cause analysis, and assist in developing corrective actions.
Communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure all stakeholders are informed of progress and issues.
Oversee cost estimates, construction planning, scheduling, and the coordination of equipment requirements.
Assist with material testing and construction inspections as necessary to ensure quality control.
Job Requirements:
Proven ability to facilitate clear and effective communication between Owners, Consultants, Contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment and smooth project execution.
Experience in effectively leading and managing field staff, with a proven ability to coordinate and oversee subcontractor activities and maintain project quality and timelines.
OSHA 10 certification required, with in-depth knowledge of construction safety standards, best practices, and regulatory compliance.
Expertise in interpreting and reviewing complex technical documents, including procedures, specifications, drawings, and engineering plans, to ensure accurate project execution.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for drafting clear correspondence, reviewing and proofreading project documents, acting as liaison with engineers, contractors, and management teams.
Proficiency in construction cost estimating, planning, and scheduling, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions as needed.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) for managing reports, documentation, and project tracking.
Education / Experience:
High School Diploma required.
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field strongly preferred.
10+ years of experience in civil construction or field supervision roles with 345-500kV or switchyards.
OSHA-10 hour certification required.
